Daniel Cashen is an Associate Director and Senior Designer at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM). With more than ten years of experience at SOM, he has contributed to some of the firm’s most high profile projects. His approach focuses on an “integrated design” workflow, in which a project’s architectural constraints and engineering performance parameters are resolved in a singular, synthetic design solution. Daniel’s work mainly focuses on large scale, mixed-use projects concentrated in China and the MENA region. Projects for which he has applied his integrated design methods include the Guiyang Cultural Plaza Tower in Guiyang, the Hangzhou Wangchao Center in Hangzhou, and the Burj Jumeira Tower in Dubai. Daniel received his Master in Architecture AP degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Design, has served as a guest critic at several schools, and is an active contributor to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.
